  1. 1.Compare the Powers of the Presiding Officers of LokSabha and RajyaSabha.

 

Answer: Speaker and Deputy Speaker As per Article 93 of Indian Constitution, the LokSabha has a Speaker and a Deputy Speaker. In the LokSabha, the lower House of the Indian Parliament, both presiding officers—the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker- are elected from among its members by a simple majority of members present and voting in the House. As such, no specific qualifications are prescribed for being elected the Speaker. The

Answer: The powers and functions of the President of India may be studied under the following heads;

 

  • Executive power:He makes rules for the convenient transaction of business of the Government of India and. allocates business among Ministers.Although the President is not the real head of the administration, all officers of the Union are his subordinates and he has the right to be informed of the affairs of the union.

Holding “Bundh”).

 

Answer: On a perusal of the impugned judgment of the High Court, referring to which learned counsel for the appellant pointed out certain portions, particularly in paras 13 and 18 including the operative part in support of their submissions, we find that the judgment does not call for any interference. We are satisfied that the distinction drawn by the High Court between a “Bandh” and a call for general strike or “Hartal” is well made out with reference to the effect of a “Bandh” on the fundamental rights of other citizens.
