Q.1 Define planning process. Explain the three stages of a Planning process. Explain the guidelines for a successful Planning process.

Answer: – Definition of a Planning process: – The development of goals, strategies, task lists and schedules required achieving the objectives of a business. The planning process is a fundamental function of management and should result in the best possible degree of need satisfaction given the resources available.

Q.3 Define Decision Support System (DSS).Explain the components of a DSS. State the differences between DSS and Expert System (ES)

Answer: – Definition of DSS:-

A Decision Support System (DSS) is a computer-based information system that supports business or organizational decision-making activities. DSSs serve the management, operations, and planning levels of an organization (usually mid and higher management) and help to make decisions, which may be rapidly changing and not easily specified in advance (Unstructured and Semi-Structured decision problems). Decision support systems can be either fully computerized, human or a combination of both.
